      “Contemplating symbolic cessation can be very helpful.  If we look at the ways we can reduce or even stop our anger, even for a short time, we will see that we can definitely experience some degree of cessation.  On this basis, through reason, we can infer that complete cessation is also possible.”

      Here Geshe Tashi suggests that if we can empirically examine our instances of symbolic cessation with a clear mind, then this will lead to a conviction that we have the potential to be free of suffering and the origin of suffering.

      How have you found this process of analysis and inference, and what have you discovered so far?
